Henry Cejudo Adds Second Incident To MMA Dumb Shit List
Or Hey UFC, You Ever Going To Tell These Folks To Stop?
Welcome to the latest C’mon Now newsletter. This is the place where I’ll share my thoughts on all the goings-on in MMA. Those thoughts could range from media criticism to advice for folks looking to get into MMA writing to why certain fighters or managers are not good for the sport.
In this post, I discuss Henry Cejudo landing on the “MMA Dumb Shit” list for 2020 a second time.

Let’s extend a hearty round of applause to UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo. On Monday, Cejudo became the first UFC fighter to appear twice on the “MMA Dumb Shit” list for 2020.
Cejudo’s first appearance came in mid-January when he tweeted this dumb shit:
A month later, Cejudo added xenophobia and racism to his playbook:
And if you count his December tweet, you can add sexism as well:
Look, I’m going to assume Cejudo is attempting to be funny, but he isn’t. He’s just taking the moves of Colby Covington and someone taking them down a notch. I don’t believe Cejudo did these things earlier in his career, so he obviously knows better, which just makes it slimier.

As for those who say, Cejudo’s latest indiscretion was a “mistake,” well, it’s hard to forgive him when you consider his recent actions in full.
Also, Cejudo isn’t the only one that got down in the muck on Monday, Sterling was right there with him:
The worst thing about all this is the UFC just sits on its hands and does nothing to stop it. It’s as if the UFC Code of Conduct is rolled up and lost somewhere in a vault in the bowels of UFC HQ. Or maybe the UFC just doesn’t care. That’s probably the most likely answer. Until the UFC puts an end to this stupidity, it will continue and with that it will silently condone the behavior.
The UFC might have a limit of what it will accept, but if it does, we sure as hell haven’t seen it and when one fighter finally hits that line it’s going to be interesting to see what the UFC does and how it justifies whatever repercussions it decides to dole out.
