Will the Ozempic Era Change how we Think About Being Fat and Being Thin?
This New Yorker story by Jia Tolentino is about the “weight-loss” drug, Ozempic, but it’s also about so much more. It gives a brief history of the obsession with body image, the establishment and belief in BMI, how our bodies can trick us, race and class, how very thin and very heavy people carried the greatest risks for heart disease and so much more. Tolentino packs a lot into this story.
